1. Trim the Wick
Short Wicks for a Clean Burn

Before each burn, make sure to trim your wick to around 6mm. This helps to prevent excessive flickering, soot build-up, and ensures an even, clean burn.

A properly trimmed wick also extends the life of your candle and enhances the scent throw, creating a more enjoyable experience.

2. Achieve an Even Burn
Let Your Candle Melt Fully Across the Surface

For an even burn, it’s important to allow your candle to burn long enough for the entire surface to melt during each use. This creates an even wax pool and prevents tunneling, which can cause uneven burning and waste wax.

For best results, ensure the top surface is completely melted before extinguishing the flame.

3. Ideal Burn Time
3-4 Hours Per Use

To maximise your candle’s life and get the best scent distribution, let it burn for around 3-4 hours each time you use it. Burning your candle for too short a time can lead to tunneling, while burning it for too long can cause the wick to shift or create excess soot.

Following this guideline will ensure a safe, long-lasting burn every time.

4. Extinguish Safely
Use a Wick Snuffer or Dipper

For a safe and clean extinguishing method, use a wick snuffer or wick dipper. This prevents smoke and keeps your wick in good condition for the next use. Avoid blowing out your candle, as this can lead to unwanted soot or wax splatter.
